Introduction
There are two methods of on-demand air transportation which have some similar aspects although their differences are more evident. Online method of offering on-demand air transportation is a convenient method of maintaining high control over the transportations services and aircraft maintenance. An online system is designed to process passenger bookings and to make reservation when necessary. This system accepts or rejects bookings, and informs the passengers about the cost they will be charged for the services. However, there is another method which is offline scheduling system. This system is aimed at constructing a minimum pilot cost and aircraft itineraries. It is mostly employed when the reservation deadline for the current day has passed hence planning activities for the following day.
The online method has several similarities with the offline one. First, they are all aimed at alerting passengers whether they can obtain a transportation reservation for that particular day or not. The online system processes the customer requests quickly hence presents a report to them regarding whether their requests were successful or not.
