Re: Reassurance after a layoff and downsizing
Dear employees,
The purpose of writing this letter is to assure you that the management of BrightWave is in control of the situation. As a result of the financial crisis, BrightWave Technology was affected adversely and has not been able to recover to the position it was prior to the global financial crisis. Most businesses in the high tech industry are actually in the same shoes as BrightWave.
The company continues being a leader in its industry and maintains a strategic vision and the management is convinced of BrightWave’s rosy future in the tech industry. The senior management of the firm has developed a strategic plan for BrightWave’s long-term viability, and the company is resolute to withstand its current poor financial state.
Even though BrightWave’s management has made major efforts internally to lower the company’s expenditures, expenses are still very high. Therefore, for BrightWave to remain economically stable, it is necessary for the management to execute cost reduction plans which would entail dismissal of some staff members. An estimated 15 percent of the total personnel at the company would be laid off. These staff reductions would make the firm to become more flexible in responding to changes and forces in the market that are beyond BrightWave Technology’s control. In this way, the overall financial position of BrightWave will become stronger. As a firm that is mindful of its people, BrightWave is taking every possible measure to help those who have lost their jobs. The workers who have been laid off would be helped appropriately in order to reduce the impact. The employee reductions at BrightWave will certainly make the company stronger.
As BrightWave moves forward during this challenging time, the management is appreciative and thankful to the devoted employees. For all the remaining staffs, be assured that your jobs are safe and the firm would continue to operate for a long time. Keep your morale high. We are grateful for all of you for being an integral component to the continuing success of this company.
