Introduction
Mystic Monk Coffee shop is a beverage shop owned by the Carmelite monks. The Carmelite monks are known for their prowess in roasting and selling gourmet coffee. Mystic Monk Coffee has won various awards due to its small batch quality, and freshness. Father Mary started the Mystic monk coffee. He wanted to transform the small monastery into a large monastery that will accommodate more monks. However, the nearby ranch that Father Daniel wished to acquire had a selling price of 8.9M dollars, which presented a financial obstacle. The monastery had 250, 000 dollars from donations, and 75, 000 dollars as profit from the Mystic Monk Coffee. Nevertheless, more money was needed for the purchase of the ranch. This case study, seeks to analyze the strategies employed by the Carmelite monks, in running their coffee shop with a vision of building a large monastery.
In performing their jobs, each brother in the monastery possessed specific set of skills that enabled them to carry out their operations in the monastery. Brother Simon was secretary to Father Daniel Peter worked in the kitchen, while Elias commonly referred to as Brother Java was the master roaster at Mystic Monk Coffee. Although the monk’s primary focus was spiritual, my analysis indicate that they all worked 6 hours per day in the coffee shop.
