The late Steve Jobs was one of the world's best known and most controversial CEOs, and even recently the subject of a major motion picture.  Although a founder of Apple, his reputation for micromanagement and temperamental style got him fired from the company he helped start.  But in a remarkable comeback he was later rehired by Apple and asked to take over as the CEO 

Write a 3-4 page paper, answering the following questions:

1. How would you describe Steve Jobs' leadership style?  Was it transformational, transactional?  Both, or neither?  Explain your reasoning.

2. Consider both the positive and negative aspects of Jobs' leadership style.  What was good, and what was detrimental to Apple?  Did the good outweigh the bad?

Steve jobs leadership style was both transformational and transaction.
He was transformational because of the fact that he could not only aid Apple to in the day to day responsibilities but at the same time helped the company in strategizing and how they could venture into different products to be able to spur the company's growth this was evident after he took over as Apple CEO after the company had stagnated for over a decade CITATION Com13 \l 1033 (David, 2013). The company had not seen any increases in terms of revenue growth after Steve Job's exit. His absence portrayed a leadership vacuum. His come back, and the following growth signified that indeed he was a transformational leader.
He was also a transactional leader which was evident during the early years after Apple inception where he was only concerned with what happened in the company on a daily basis and seldom ignored much of the future. This was the reason behind his exit CITATION Bur06 \l 1033 (Burrows, 2006). Although this was changed after his exit from Apple, when he came back he was more of a transformational leader than a transactional leader. Though, some aspects of transactional leader could still be emulated by him, since he could even take part in the presentation through unveiling of new products as the CEO.
