Almost every student that goes through high school and college has experienced some daunting experiences on their math subject. At one point in their lives, the equations, the formulas, and all the graphs might have seemed cryptic and almost impossible to understand without help from someone else. In my case, the same experience has happened when I was still in high school. It was during my first algebra class, back in middle school, when I really struggled with the concepts that are being taught. Even though our teacher has always been thorough and helpful in our everyday classes, teaching how to solve algebraic equations step-by-step, algebra back then just felt like a labyrinth with all kinds and possibilities depending on how the formula was arranged. Thus, what I did was I sought the help of my parents to help me study math after my classes at home. I must admit that it was not easy asking for their help, due to my fear that they might think that I’m a slow learner and/or I don’t focus much attention on my classes. For someone like me who’ve always wanted to make my parents proud, asking for their help and confessing that I’m struggling to learn made me very anxious. However, contrary to my beliefs, my parents were not only happy because I asked for their help, but also because I’ve wanted to learn and not just leave the issue to pass....
