In other words, the marketing does not exist because there is a product or service to sell but rather the product exists because it supports the marketing that creates stakeholder value. While this view is not generally accepted, it can spur great creativity in the product or service development process.

In my opinion, one of the products that stay close to its marketing and its devotion to upholding the stakeholder’s value is Avis rent-a-car. While searching for these good products, I came about an advertisement that they released back in 1962, where the catchphrase states “We’re number two. We try harder” (Kessler, 2017). What is most striking about their advertisement is that it recognizes that, just as every company that exists, they have their own flaws and that they are willing to do better.
