Millennial is a group of people that is more diverse than they are often given credit for. Even though these millennial were brought up during the time of internet and have got a global identity, they have got different attitudes towards luxury from one country to another. One of the countries in the world where millennials have been able to contribute immensely into their growth is China. However, Chinese millennial are different from their counterparts in the western countries.
This essay examines the Chinese millennial and how they spend much time on their cell phones than they do sleeping.
Chinese Millennial
Born between 1980s and 1990s, Chinese millennial is a representation of a wide generation of educated, independent, and tech-savvy consumers. In relation to the report that was presented by Goldman Sachs, Chinese millennial are estimated to be around 415 million or better still 31% of the total population of the Chinese people. According to that very same report this key demographic is increasingly becoming wealthy and their income is set to grow by approximately US$3 trillion in the next decade, and with an average incomes rising from US$5,900 to US$13,000. Chinese millennial have played a great role in driving changes in the Chinese economy as well as international market places, and this has disrupted economic models and driving innovation. They are technology savvy and they are embracing everything technology from mobile e-commerce and the sharing economy all the way to international travel and a culture of working from home. Due to their nature of being innovative, Chinese millennial spend most of their time on their cell-phone as compared to the time they spend sleeping (Allen,2017).

Just like their demographic or generation counterparts in the Western countries, Chinese millennial spend most of their time in the internet. What differentiates them from one another is their mobility. According to the research that was conducted by Deloitte, it was discovered that 97% of Chinese people of ages between fourteen and forty seven currently own smart phones.
