There are six different approaches/images that the management can take for an organization to realize the objectives of change processes. Change managers measure organizational performance, measure and compare performance with set standards, and implement change to achieve the desired results. These six images include the director, navigator, coach, nurturer, caretaker, and interpreter. This implies that the management can be both change control agents and change shaping managers. As a change control agent, the manager can be seen as a director, a navigator, and caretaker while as change-shaping agent, the management can serve as a coach, an interpreter, or a nurturer.
The director serves as a control agent to make strategic decisions for the survival of an organization while as a navigator, he implements the changes by navigating through different sets of changes recommended.
