Subject: Career Growth and Development for the Manager above 40 Years of Age
Most of the managers that are in the organization and in their 40s and above have one thing in common; they are stagnant in their careers development and personal growth. Currently, most of them have been stuck in one position for the last decade (Hymowitz, 2003). The idea of having someone specialize in a given area is good for productivity, it also detrimental to that person. The latter is the case where staffs are given certain roles in the company, which they get too familiar with and thus the position no longer provides the invoking sparks for creativity(Noe, 2010).
Given that most of these managers have more personal mobility, with most of the children now independent, they can be assigned projects that resonate with their freedom.
