Grantham University places a lot of emphasis on the development of its students. The focus of the university management is to ensure that students develop good communication skills, be able to think critically, have respect for diversity, embrace the idea of lifelong learning, and be professionally, ethically, and socially responsible. The goal of the university is to ensure that there is a clear connection between professional majors and general education. Many times, studies have ignored the need of ensuring that what is studied in class is applicable in professional life. The courses within the university also give students the ability to map the said skills with their professional goals. Going through the courses at the university gives students the ability to research the needs of the industry and ensure that what they study will be useful in future professional life.
Throughout the course, I have been able to grow and develop as expected of a professional. One of the most important requirements is the development of good communication skills that would be applicable in various organizational settings. Moreover, my ability to evaluate complicated qualitative and quantitative data has improved. According to PerreaultJr, Cannon& McCarthy (2013), professionals should have strong evaluation skills needed to support operational and strategic decisions. The studies have enabled me to develop the skills necessary to work in a group and independently in different working environments. I have grown to be more creative and developed the ability to think reflectively on ways I can address challenges and opportunities related experience in professional life.
