Lean thinking application in the organization aims to eliminate waste and at the same time create wealth. It is a customer-oriented approach where simplicity, accountability, flexibility, speed, and visibility are applied to the service program to ensure efficient information and activities flow. As noted by Sneider & Carnes (2008), the approach helped Japan become the leading manufacturer of automobiles in the world. The author also points out that for leaning thinking application to succeed, it is important for the company’s culture to be surrounded by spirit, heart, and trust. This brings out the concept of ethics as the morality of actions emerges. It can thus be said that the application of lean thinking is a form of ethics.
Ethical issues may thus emerge when an organization applies lean thinking to the service program.
