Based on the interview with Dr. Lance and the students, one is able to understand the aspects of good leadership traits. One of the traits is a concern for others. Dr. Lance explains of a situation where she helped one of her subordinates with a personal issue, she put business aside and dealt with the urgent personal matter first (Team A & Lance, 2015). A good leader is also able to understand the most effective means of communication depending on the situation and the person they are dealing with. Good leaders also discuss points they disagree on with their subordinates. They do not let the disagreement get in the way of their working together but instead deals with it and gets past it. Dr. Lance states that she never fires employees because of disagreeing with her point of view.
