In the entire state of Arizona, Banner Health is one of the largest nonprofit hospitals. According to Thomson Reuters, Banner Health is recognized as one of the Top 10 health systems in the nation. According to the SDI in Modern Healthcare magazine, it is ranked seventh from a group of one hundred others systems that have Integrated Healthcare Networks. It also matches up with some of the largest health care system in the nation, with more than 35,000 employees (3ecompany.com, 2016). It is not just restricted to the state of Arizona, as Banner Health operates in more than seven other western states. Among the main services offered under their health care delivery system include, home care, hospital care, hospice care, surgery centers, rehabilitation centers, laboratories and nursing registries.
Historically, this is a system that was created in the year 1999 through the merger of Lutheran Health Systems and the Samaritan Health System. At the time it was operating in New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and Kansas. Later on, all of these operations were sold and the health care system concentrated its operations in Phoenix. Since then the health care system has greatly evolved to include even insurance plans for their patients (Theberylinstitute.org, 2016). This helps the patients to acquire better health care and a support system that they can rely on. With hospitals totaling to twenty three and more than 4000 beds, the patients are assured of quality and reliable services across the states where the services are offered (3ecompany.com, 2016).
The health care industry has continually evolved and as such Banner Health has been at the forefront trying to make sure that it leverages multiple leadership development programs, in a quest to meet the different and growing needs of the patient in the nation (Theberylinstitute.org, 2016). At the same trying to make sure that it able to meet the needs of the workforce, in a bid to streamline their growth efforts from all the angles. This is a system that largely committed to the growth and development of its leaders and those that are emerging in their respective fields.
