1 What do you understand the meaning of a good or effective communication to be?
I believe that effective communication is communication that has a goal. For me, communication should have an objective that it seeks to drive at. Effective communication, therefore, seeks to achieve something and not simply pass information.
2 What can you say is the greatest advantage of having effective communication within the workplace?
When communication has a goal that it strives to achieve, people tend to understand each other well and this coincides with increased productivity.
3 Are there any challenges to effective communication? If possible, name a few for me.
Yes, I believe there are some challenges which can render effective communication void. Examples would include a factor like gender. People often talk about gender equality in the workplace but I believe that people's insistence on assessing the source of information always brings about challenges to effective communication.
4 People often talk about communicating and relaying the message but never consider listening as an important component of effective communication. Why do you think this is the case?
Well, before I understood the importance of listening in communication, I was also among the people who never paid attention to what others were saying. I think that people simply, fail to understand that listening is also part of communicating effectively.
5 How has social media affected or impacted communication in the workplace?
For me, social media has increased the gap between employees and currently, there are as many fake friendships and relationships as there are real ones within the workplace.

Effective communication, for me, is a system which involves people, mediums of communication, as well as ideas. To add on what I have said, effective communication is not just the idea of relaying information rather it entails more including aspects like listening and appropriate feedback.
2 What can you say is the greatest advantage of having effective communication within the workplace?
With effective communication, people develop great partnerships and relationships at work. Imagine working in a place where people genuinely listen to each other and offer appropriate feedback whenever required.
