Everyone has a role in addressing pressing issues in the community. One of the issues that I see is the increase of our consumption tendencies, which continuously leads to the depletion of our environment. I can see how my family, neighbors, and friends increase their consumption by purchasing things that we do not need in my own community. This leads to waste ending in landfills or burning in waste treatment facilities.
Although there is nothing wrong with this, I realized that there must still be a way to reduce our consumption. Thus, one thing that I personally do is to practice recycling methods and advocate for them within my community Grosse, 2010).
In the future, I would like to be a part of something greater by establishing a non-profit organization that could make products out of these boxes, cartons, plastics, and other materials that we use for packaging the things that we use. This would reduce our waste and e...
