Organizational change largely involves change in the culture of an organization. Usually, culture depicts what is done in an organization and how it is done. This, however, depends on shared understanding of the organization's mission, values, and day to day operations. Organizational change is important majorly because it is as a result of changes in: (i) circumstances surrounding the organization, (ii) demographics change in the organization, (iii) organization's objective changes, (iv) changes in stakeholders' expectations, and (v) attitudes and practices which produce negative or undesired outcomes (Desson, n.d.).
Various types of obstacles and objections may arise in trying to bring about organizational change. First, differences of opinion between the organization's management and staff or among executives themselves may lead to unwanted halting of a planned change. Secondly, competitive and seemingly unclear change initiatives may pose serious threats to a planned change process.
