Introduction
There are various ideas that Hawthorne Studies have developed to secure worker cooperation towards management to attain the objectives of many organizations. Mayo started this study by giving a description of an experiment which involved the changing illumination and how it impacted work production. The observations were many. Firstly, the production of work increased when illumination increased, decreased and then it remained constant. According to these experiments, there are various major management problems.
The first one is scientific and technical skill application to some material product or good. Two, the systematic operations in terms of ordering and the then work organization which is of sustained cooperation. Within this experiment, the key interest was establishing how the lighting level on the floor of the factory impacted productivity. This took place to separate the workers under study from the rest of the workers. The aim of the researchers was to observe if the change in the environment at the place of work affected productivity (Stillman, 2009). The discovery was that most workers had the ability of producing more than an expected number of units. On the contrary, when they made attempts to do so, the other employees pressurized them to stop. The conclusion was that informal associations among employees were more significant than money paid to employees.
Mayo, thus, postulated that the reason employees get motivated strongly by informal things is that people possess a deep psychological requirement to have a be...
