Global Supply Chains, And Racialized Labor Markets
Muñoz (2011) focuses on Hacienda California (CA), a factory owned by a Mexican tortilla plant and is located in the United States. Tortillas have a long and rich tradition in indigenous Mexican cultures. The factory is very secure and also encourages strict discipline among the personnel. The company also has both documented and undocumented workers and this results in a gendered and racially charged work environment. The conflicts due to immigration status as led to new issues in the organization.
