Christian ethics refers to the Christian perspective of defining what is virtuous and behavior that is considered wrong (Crooks, 2015). Accordingly, each Christian is guided by these ethics since their morals are derived from the Christian ethics. This means that such an individual will consider their Christian ethics when undertaking activities even at work. On the other hand, there are set beliefs and values which guide employees and management interaction in any work place. These beliefs which constitute corporate culture may differ or be similar to that of a Christian employee. As a result, personal Christian ethics of an employee will always interact with corporate culture and work. Both have an influence since they determine how an individual conducts their work, solves conflicts and establishes relationships at work. Where there are differences between the individual's Christian ethics and those of the firm they work for, the individual is required to make an ultimate decision. In this regard, some individuals will choose to act in accordance with their Christian ethics, and there are others who will choose the corporate culture. However, it is important for an individual to blend the two and prioritize the Christian ethics because of their values.
Christian core values can establish a lasting corporate culture in any organization. These Christian core values include; righteousness, productivity, honesty, determination, love, and diligence. All these values are found in the bible and should be practiced by each Christian. A Christian employee should be diligent. This means that he or she should be persistent in the work they do and or in the effort they put. In Proverbs 13:4, the Bible encourages diligence by saying that diligent people will be rewarded (Minton et al. 2015). In this regard, the employee should put in effort when working and creating deals at work. Another value is the determination which means firmness of purpose. It encourages a person to do something even though the task in question is difficult. This is found in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 where the Bible promises a reward for determined individuals. Consequently, an employee should continue to pressing on in the work they do if they have to achieve the ultimate goal of the company.
Productivity is the state of being productive and yielding. The bible talks about productivity in John 15:5 by proving how Christians who obey Jesus will yield in abundance. Accordingly, employees should apply this value at their workplace by working efficiently so that they benefit. Efforts ...
