In the employment laws, there are statutes that are put in place to govern the employer-employee relationship in the workplace. These laws cuts in both side as one side protects the employees and the other one protects the employers in the interest of the business success. In the era of diversified workplace, employment law has been facing instances of challenges. However, most people likely agree that there are some laws that go too far and others that are absolutely necessary. (Eggleston & O'Brien, 2015) The current labor laws have succeeded in delivering a healthier workforce in many sector of employment these laws have provided guidelines on the conduct of employer responsibilities and employee incentives. Therefore, the employment regulations are necessary because it guarantees healthier working conditions in the workplace compared to lack or lenient set regulations.
In reference to the implemented workplace safety and health law such as the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act, many private and public sector companies have adhered to the law and improve the safety and health conditions to the standards recommended by the relevant authorities such as National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and labor unions. As the law state, employers have the responsibility to provide employees with a conducive working environment that are free form possible physical and health hazards (Eggleston & O'Brien, 2015). Many companies have complied with this law as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) enforces the Act through frequent inspections and investigations in the workplaces (Eggleston & O'Brien, 2015). In the absence or leniency of the law, many employers would be exploiting the employees by subjecting them to poor working conditions with meager earnings.
