According to Fugate, Prussia & Kinicki (2012), organizational change refers to a situation where the management structures and processes are reviewed and modified. In today’s society, organization and teams are undergoing through rapid changes mostly due to the advancement in technology and also the world is also quickly going digital and therefore it would be prudent for organizations to change with the changes that are taking place both within the internal and external environment of the business or organization.
This essay examines drivers, significance, implementation, and issues that would contribute to organizational change.
Drivers of Organizational Change
There are so many reasons that would drive organizational change in any company. Some of the factors that would drive organizational change include advancement of technology, competitive environment, conditions of economy, and actions on government policy. Advancement of technology has significantly changed how operations of the business are done and how they interact with one another. There are new business models like virtual collaboration and outsourcing cannot be possible without speedy communications and the internet. For the organization to remain competitive in the industry; it would be prudent for the organization to adopt this technological advancement. There are also government regulations that would force a business to adapt; this might force the consumer to change preferences (Shin, Taylor & Seo, 2012).

Those companies which are not brave enough to embrace changes that are taking place, may soon become extinct in the future.
