In a team of two individuals they have different personalities. One member is not responsible, lazy, produces ordinary work, creator, and not a team player. The other member is over achiever, careless, know it all, and a team player (Christiansen & Tett, 2013).
The advantage of working with people with different personality types is that it balances the strengths and weaknesses. This results in a stronger and well-adjusted working environment. For example, people with quieter personalities offer a stable environment and the risk-takers offer a chance to try new techniques. Different personalities also ensure better decision-making strategies. This is because different perspectives are used in approaching a problem to reach a consensus. Finally, diverse personalities allows the organization to tap into talents. When different personalities work together, it not only strengthens teams, but also ensures that creativity is enhanced (O'Rourke & Collins, 2008). For instance, a personality that is lazy but creative can create new strategies for the organization.
