Cultural literacy means we understand that a person’s culture affects the way that he or she communicates and relates to others. After reviewing the two module 3 videos namely, "Chinese Business outcomes – How to greet someone" and "Chinese Business Etiquette Instructional Video," there are a number of key differences that distinguish the Chinese culture from the American. The first difference is the approach to formality in terms of how one addresses someone. While in America people are usually addressed using their first names, in Chinese culture people are addressed using their surname and first names if only you know the person very well (CSUGlobal, 2013).
