Without a doubt, consumers need, and preference plays a big role in continuous development in innovation. On the other hand, advancements in product innovations have also played significant roles in consumerism evolution. Consumers affect innovation in that they have different needs and preferences, which keeps changing as time goes (Figiel & Kufel, 2016). The ever-evolving customer preferences keep companies on their toes in trying to meet such needs in their products. When the companies even proceed to research to determine or anticipate the next move as far as consumer preference is to prepare products that meet such needs.
Subsequently, innovation in developments has also shaped and influenced several consumer behaviors, especially in service and product delivery. A perfect example of how innovation shaped consumer behavior is the emergence of mobile and online shopping. Unlike the traditional method during the industrialization period when consumers could go to factories to purchase goods or even in the manufactures where-houses, a lot has changed in the contemporary world. Nowadays, consumers would rather order goods online instead of getting to supermarkets (Figiel & Kufel, 2016).
