Characteristics of failed leaders
Information from the Center for Creative Leadership Studies, 1983, 1985, 1995 show that leaders fail to perform because of particular reasons. First, leaders fail due to poor decision making, reasoning, and critical thinking skills. Leading an organization requires one to be sharp in making accurate decisions, reason quickly in prompt situations and think critically to avoid making decisions that can hurt the organization (Aasland, et al., 2010). Leaders with poor reasoning and critical thinking skills delay in making crucial decisions and thus fail in achieving set organizational targets.
Second, many leaders fail due to poor oral and written communication skills. Arrogant leaders who use harsh language to communicate to their employees create enmity that piles and causes poor working relations in the organization (Aasland, et al., 2010).
