In a written paper of 1,250-1,500 words, evaluate the current forces driving change in your field or industry. As a leader, or considering the role of a leader, assess your organization and evaluate how well it is responding to the forces, and identify where there is a need for change. Develop a vision to inspire this change. Include the following:
1 Describe your organization, include the organization's mission, and identify the various stakeholders.
2 Identify the external and internal forces that drive organizational change in your field or industry. Explain the origin or reason for these internal or external driving forces. Explain how these forces directly affect the viability of your organization.
3 Choose one of the driving forces. Describe the specific issues this driving force creates, or will potentially create, for your organization or department.
4 Propose the steps needed for your organization or department to respond to this driving force.
5 Predict how employees at various levels in the organization will respond to your proposed change initiative.
6 Develop a vision for change. Describe how this vision correlates with the organization's mission, and how you will present this vision to internal stakeholders.
7 Predict how you think your vision will assist internal stakeholders in supporting the change initiative. Identify potential considerations posed by stakeholders, and discuss how you will respond.

Organization’s mission and stakeholders
Abrazo Central Hospital located in Phoenix, Arizona and the hospital’s mission and vision are related to improving health with employees embracing health initiatives. The hospital is part of the Abrazo Community Health Network. The mission is “To help people achieve health for life. “ The vision is, “To create life-long relationships by changing the way health and healthcare is delivered in our communities,” (Abrazo Central Hospital, 2016). The hospital’s values are anchored in safety, respect, integrity, accountability, innovation and excellence. The stakeholders of the hospital include the staff, Health network, patients, local community, donors, health providers and the health system.
External and internal forces that driving organizational change
Healthcare costs in the U.S are rising but the number of people receiving healthcare coverage is below the targets. Changes in reimbursement has altered the way patients pay for health insurance, healthcare insurance makes it easier to pay for healthcare services, but since those without insurance coverage tend to be poor, they are unlikely to pay the higher out of pocket costs. Quality improvement standards being adopted in the healthcare industry have highlighted the need for individualized health plans and adopt quality safety metrics to evaluate how hospitals have improved patient health outcomes and improved efficiency (Wolf, Hanson & Moir, 2011). Health policies and procedures are increasingly patient-centric, while health practitioners engage with various stakeholders to improve patient care. Abrazo Central Hospital is faced with the challenge of providing adequate care services and improving quality of health services in the face of rising healthcare costs.
Impact of driving forces
One of the driving forces is changes in reimbursement and the healthcare reforms that affect the way hospital administrators make decisions. The immediate impact of these changes is that hospitals are increasingly being forced to take up more risk when managing patient care when there is risk of reimbursement cuts. There are different reimbursement rates applicable from Medicaid, Medicare to private insurance programs. This affects decisions on the likelihood of admissions, intensity of care, hospital stay and health outcomes. There will be a need to focus on improving the quality of healthcare given the risk that there will be changes in reimbursement that will likely affect the way the hospital operates. Achieving efficiency allows Abrazo Central Hospital to provide health need and improve operations, while this has positive effects on the ability of the administrators to improve hospital response to health care needs.
