AN ANALYSIS OF THE CASE – VOICI’S BRANDS
Background
Voici Brands is a large American firm that has been operating in the United States of America since 1970. This firm is governed by executives who lead the company’s various businesses on their own. The CEO has proposed and wants to centralize the supply chain operations within one stipulated firm but some executives claim better performances than others in income generation towards the company. They do not want to run the management together because some of the executives will think that the others do not want to do their jobs because they may lose control. The CEO proposes the idea of centralization but not all executives concur with the terms of the proposal. is held at a limbo where without making the other executives to work together in a centralized firm, the business’ future is at jeopardy. Voici is facing one fast paced competitor Marquise. As a clear example, Marquise has overtaken Voici as the leading fashion brand and as the CEO Jack notes, they had consolidated their supply chain operations through outsourcing of all its product lines to the supply chain city in shanghai. Jack is impressed with the idea during his visit and decides it is time they went into the same path to secure a long profitable future for Voici brands. But, jack faces decision making problems and needs to solve this soon or else the company submerges into losses.
Issues over the proposal

3 Jack feels his companies’ progress is intimidated by moves from the rival brand. Moves such as consolidation are giving him hell of a time to counter production.
4 Jack has met with one of the executives and she has coldly turned him away. She claims she knows her job well and nobody should dictate on how she does it because she carries a lot of experience with her.
Long term issues
Voici Brands as a company began with the production of one line of clothing. Over the consequent 35 years, they acquired four more brands. The issue is that each business that marketed these brands were a subsidiary, its own management, set of suppliers and legacy. The businesses were run on their own accord.
1 Cost saving due to proximity. The company should make sure brand sampling and supply operations are ensured from the main offices. This helps the executives to closely manage workers and makes it easier for them to access services faster than when they are in distant areas.
2 Consolidation will also increase the level of services across the brands for their procurement would be under strict inspection through giving directions on what the workers should and should not do.
3 Workers who feel they are untouchable. A typical fashion professional, Margie, is one of the line’s retail managers who commands procurement and universal respect for Voici Bra...
