The FTC has for the last few years been investigating Herbalife, over allegations of operating a pyramid scheme. Herbalife is a nutritional supplement company and had been investigated for two years before the FTC brought it to a close. The company had been operating a scheme that would cause hundreds of people lose their money (Bomey & McCoy, 2016).
During the investigation, the company had started a scheme where it sought after sales persons who would ideally be rolled into a sales project.
