Should disabled veterans get preferential treatment over better-qualified candidates who are not disable veterans?
Most state departments and agencies in the us federal government are obligated to have an affirmative action program for recruitment, employment, staffing and advancement to veteran disabled persons (Reynolds & Nicholas, 2013).The law dictates that agencies provide an annual disabled veteran affirmative action plan (DVAAP) each year to OPM. The report should vividly outline the company’s efforts of promoting the welfare of disabled veterans through job advancement opportunities and maximum employment. Most of all what they seem not to understand is that the state has laid done a criterion to determine the qualification veterans with some percentage of disability, to other applicants who maybe fresh from campus/college. What the law is trying to echo the world is that veterans have already made a mark in history by deciding to defend their country in difficult times. This fact automatically adds some point to the veterans C.V over some individual who just choose college. However, it also depends specifically on the job qualification requirements. Additionally, m...
