A Summary on the National Geographic Strange Days on Planet: Invaders
This television series that is divided into 4 parts serves as a highly intellectual and educational learning instrument. It is also an eye-opener to the truth that is happening with our surroundings. The purpose of this show is to inform the public of the enriching beauty of the environment and habitat of animals through motion pictures, videos, a clear graphic portrayal of the animals and all forms of species or living things. There is a collective and accurate gathering of information in this show, another brilliant research series shown through the National Geographic with a touch of drama. The show focused on insects, termites, fish, land, water and air animals. It has been explained through a collection of videos that animals as little as termites could destroy a whole infrastructure if grouped together. Human nature has such amazing secrets that it holds but on the other hand, these small creatures could also be deadly. One investigative documentary in this show informs us how a colony of termites were able to invade the whole community of New Orleans leading to the destruction of numerous homes and properties. The government had to spend millions or billions to kill and destroy these small creatures. In addition, the Nile crocodile also became a topic in this series whereby both people and smaller animals feared it. Actors re-enacted historical facts and showed the numerous accounts of crocodile attacks most particularly in Uganda. This series elaborated on the Scientific progress of species through a multidisciplinary method. This method is different from the regular classroom studies and shows the audience that education could also take place through informal studying and learning. Motion pictures are more able to persuade and ignite a new sense of passion to study our surroundings. Likewise, diseases could also arise from plants and animals if the ecosystem is not well taken care of or there is an absence of balance. Bio-control was enabled and applied in order to balance the ecosystem by multiplying a particular specie that would eradicate or lessen the species causing destruction.
A Summary on the Ivory Game
When we visit the Safari and see elephants in in their amazing splendor, we can’t help but appreciate the beauty of nature however, in this short movie by Netflix, the victims are not humans but animals specifically the animals. There is no better way of touching and persuading the hearts and minds of people but to create or film a movie, get actors to play and input the important and powerful message in the script. Not only did this show elaborated on the illegalities of selling and trading ivory taken from elephant tusks but also how this will affect the balance of things in the ecosystem and environment. The food pyramid must not be dismissed or disregarded and should be given such importance to prevent an imbalance in the animal and human habitat.
