Practitioners and policymakers have tried to make the use of stem cells in biomedical research ethical. Although most researches face various problems like availability of costly and untested treatments, the scholars have tried to minimize the ethical issues encountered in the process to ensure conduct when handling the human body (Kelsey, 2015). Nevertheless, it could be obvious to encounter various challenges in the process of research and the stem cell idea is not an exception. In this case, using the stem cells for biomedical research is ethical if the researchers involved use the right procedures throughout the entire process.
The history of stem cell research reveals subsequent success in all the processes carried out despite the challenges faced, proving that the researchers try to follow a code of ethics at work. For instance, in 2004, South Korean scholars made successful production of stem cells, revealing the significance of the research (Farajkhoda, 2017). The researchers must have put a lot of efforts in their personal conduct to develop what they wanted to achieve in the project. Although the individuals may have encountered various issues, they should have tried to achieve the best throughout the process. Consequently, they managed to “create a stem cell line from a cloned human embryo.” A significant revolution has improved the capability of the production of stem cells over the past 20 years, since the introduction of the activities (Farajkhoda, 2017). The initiatives have significance since the entire procedures are made to help in the provision of treatment for various ailments. Although some researchers carry out the production of the cells without supervision, most of the projects are permitted and monitored by committees to ensure accountability.
The current conversations on public media reveal fewer occurrences of ethical issues from the researchers and the evidence proves that the use of stem cells is right since the individuals involved work as per the requirements of their study. Biomedical ethics has advanced various aspects such as the fields of education, research and legislation (Santamaria & Simon, 2017). Learners put more efforts to achieve and give the best in the biomedical research. On the other hand, the well-attained researchers follow the stipulated regulations strictly to achieve excellent results in the cloning of stem cells. Since the latter has ideal knowledge on the benefits of the research to the general public, they have tried to achieve the best in the projects. At some point, the individuals are caught in the dilemma between the use of stem cells and the respect for human life (Farajkhoda, 2017). While one might be at work, they will still think about the lives of the individuals involved. Humans should be treated with dignity irrespective of the significance of the project in question.
