Ballona Wetlands is an ecological site located in southern California. Furthermore, Machado Augustine established Ballona Wetland in 1920, and he used it for grazing cattle. Environmentalists later pushed to make the ranch an ecological reserve in the State of California. Ballona Wetlands contain more than 2000 acres of land, and with the help of Ruth Ransford, it was established as an ecological reserve in 2013. In 2007, Loyola Marymount University and other environmental activists received funding to protect the Ballona Wetlands from pollution. Some of the conditions under the program included a total barn of development on the 600 acres reserved. In 2015, more collaborations were formed to reserve overall projects to enhance the productivity of the Ballona Wetlands. Some of the essential agreements that were put in place include the preservation of 600 acres from development (Jeniffer, 2005).

The primary impact on the development of Ballona Wetland is the invasion of human activities.
