Introduction
The cell theory is a critical topic in biology since it clearly describes cell properties. These cells are regarded as the basic unit in all living organisms (Gest, 2004). In particular, this fundamental theory states that; all living organisms are made up of cells which form the basic unit of structure as well as function and existing cells are responsible for the production of new cells (Mazzarello, 1999). Given the pivotal attributed to the cell in living organisms, it is important to understand in detail the different types of organisms. Cell types
In support of the cell theory, Kwok (2011), explains that there are two main types of organisms; Prokaryotic organisms, which refer to single-celled organisms lacking a nucleus. Ideally, this means that the DNA or RNA component in these organisms tends to float quite freely within the cell. In addition to that interesting fact, the cells present in these organisms lack organelles that are membrane-bound. On the other hand, Eukaryotes, which are the second classification of organisms are more complex and larger compared to prokaryotes.
