Science and art are perceived as equivalent and similar in most respects given the sharing of various operational characteristics. Articulate and intricate marriage of art and science is the product of a lifetime due to resultant efficiency. An interdisciplinary approach to art and science should be embraced to liberate the society from the myopic demarcations portrayed in the application of the two disciplines. Below is a discussion of ways in which art and science relate to each other.
* Creative and Critical Thinking Skills
Both science and art utilize critical and creative thinking skills in order to accomplish various objectives. For example, kids are encouraged to exude essentially critical thinking and analytical skills which would help them challenge the existing problems and also further discover better ways of solving social problems through scientific approaches. Children acquire the necessary life skills from the social interactions from the social setup but then inculcate such ideas in the practical environment. For instance, Leonardo Da Vinci coupled the artistic attributes in producing some of the cutting-edge, top-notch inventions. Leonardo was a painter (art), scientist (science), and inventor (science and art) (Featherstone, 2019). Sustainable science and science is the one that attempts to exploit both art and Science.
* Exploration and Trial-and-error Activities
Scientists and artists share the moral responsibility of finding solutions to the existing problems through technology (science) and works of art (art). The quest to secure solutions presents daunting challenges to both parties and the prevailing conditions subject the parties into brooding sessions and moments of seclusion which help the two professionals to develop acute critical skills necessary for problem-solving purposes. The exploration process entails numerous ventures punctuated with trials and errors (Guedim, 2019). The ultimate solution is a product of both art and science. Good artists and scientists have the capacity to exploit both worlds of science and art in order to devise relevant solutions to existing challenges. For instance, the cognitive capacity of the child is sharpened through the use of various artistic devices which help the children to relate the science with the existing products. Pieces of art tend to create a lasting impression of the work of science (Featherstone, 2019). Thus, science and art are intertwined to meet the ultimate goal of local and global growth and development. The appealing features of art and convincing science characteristics are both critical all life facets.
* Investigation/Questioning and Imagination
Investigation of particular conditions or problems forms the tenet of all artistic and scientific exploits. Both of the groups tend to query themselves so as to seek for solutions to specific issues that affect the society (Jarreau, 2019).
