Walid Raad Chosen To Exhbit His Art in a Solo Show at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

Walid Raad, Translator’s Introduction(2012).
An award-winning artist, Walid Raad announced today that his intellectual series art “ Translators Introduction” was selected for a solo art presentation at the MoMA in New York City. Raad is reputable for his photographic sculpture works and his exemplary presentation skills that he employs to untangle the geopolitical web ties of his parent country, Lebanon, with particular emphasis on wars and a tale on the shrinking mystical and artworks colors, The MoMA has chosen Raad’s art collection for a solo presentation on 11th July 2018.
Raad has bagged a couple awards including the ICP Gives infinity awards in 2016, Hasselblad Award in 2011, Herb Alpert Foundation award in 2007, Rencontres d’Arles award in 2006, and Camera Austria Award 2005. Raad works dwells on the conceit of truth captured in the photographic evidences and memory plays in creating history.
Raad creates photographic sculptures in forms of a documentary and archive history to document cues that gives insights about the political and social political conflicts and the contemporary history of Lebanon. Raad’s art, the traditionally iconography of war photography paints a picture of violence experienced in a fiction and non-function representation.
Raad’s project The Atlas Group earned him prevalent attention and international recognition where he researched and documented the history of Lebanon through historical writing, paintings and visual representation of violence and war.
