Assign 5- Music Appreciation
Recognize and describe
Tomás Luis de Victoria's Missa O Magnum Mysterium is an imitation mass song and Kyrie adapts aspects of the O Magnum Mysterium. The music has a slow rhythm where the voices sing at different speeds, while there are contrasting meters and texture as part of the rhythm, and there is no signature beat. The tempo begins slowly and builds up towards the end of the movement. The harmony is an accompaniment sound for melody, and the composition is perfectly harmonized, but also dark sounding.
