In the Hall of the Mountain King is Edvard Grieg’s popular piece of orchestral music, which he composed in 1875 for Peer Gynt’s sixth scene of act 2. Originally, this was part of Opus 23; later on, In the Hall of the Mountain King got extracted as the last piece of Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Op. 46.
