What is your essential action?
Acting is the craft of living fully and truthfully under imaginary circumstances. An essential Action in stage must have the quality of something that needs to be achieved. It is like boiling down the essence of what the character is trying to achieve from the other character in the scene. The Essential Action offers the actor a way of taking the essence of what the character is doing and turning it into something that he or she can do too. According to this playwright, the actor is trying to highlight how he knows how to treat women. Even though Carly and Kent had lived for some years now, they have some confrontation because Kent is not romantic. The Essential Action of the actor here on the stage is to show the audience how to treat a woman while in a relationship. Being nice to your partner is a critical aspect of relationship which makes the couple to live happily. Carly and Kent are never happy in their affairs because Kent does not understand how better to treat his girlfriend. The actor is, therefore, selling a great idea of love and affection for those who are in a relationship.

Based on this playwright, I am tactfully trying to play the role of getting someone or the audience on my team. Why did the actor declare that he knows how to date? This is an intelligent way of passing the information that he can date successfully though he is not willing to pursue the dating course. The bottom line of this story is that people should not be judgmental about the personalities of a person. Being judgmental towards the character of a person before even getting to know him or her better has the potential of terminating the relationship. The actor is open-minded towards relationship and caution the audience from being judgmental while dating.
