Effects of Rituals on the Musical Event (Student’s name) Visual and Performing Arts (Institutional affiliation) Effects of Rituals on the Musical Event In the 1st video about wherein Kendrick Lamar is performing the song “Alright”, the audience begin to jump up and down as he begins to rap. Before the he started to sing, the people were quiet and anticipating what to expect. As soon as he starts to sing, the mood of the people also changes. They become more excited, pumped, and probably aggressive especially if there is anything in the lyrics of the song that will get them in that state. The venue is dark with purple and pink lights, with a backdrop of a city. The purpose of this is to let the audience know what the impact of the songs will be to get them into the vibe. The rhythm of the song also determines the kind of dance moves the audience will have while enjoying the performance. For instance, since the song is performed in a fast rapping voice, the audience begin to raise their hands while moving it up and down in a fast pace. If a person does it in a slower pace, he or she will be dancing out of tune. Of course, everyone in the audience wants to be in the moment. In addition, the rapper is wearing very casual clothes, which means that the audience are not obliged to wear a formal or semi-formal attire.
