For one to be successful in the contemporary highly technologically competitive world, they require to develop and employ the use of varied skills than we demanded before. One of the abilities needed is design thinking. Humans' perceptions are confined to the façade of appearance and the illusion of visual appeal. Design is, therefore, expertise in crafting something unique to provide solutions to complex situations. Design thinking is an analytic and imaginative process that involves an individual in opportunities to explore, design, and prototype models, assemble feedback, and redesign (Razzouk & Shute, 2012). A good design thinker should possess several characteristics like visualization and creativity. Design thinking revolves around an extensive interest in building an understanding of the people for whom a product is intended. It aids in the observation and development of compassion with the target user. Design thinking is also referred to as 'outside the box thinking' as creators try to innovate ways of thinking that do not abide by conventional problem-solving methods. A Design process, on the other hand, portrayed by being iterative, exploratory, and even disordered, are the stages involved in design thinking which facilitate the crafting of a new product with distinct specifications (Braha and Reich 2003).
A case study on the Stanford Hospital described how the design thinking process is used to explore and improve patient’s experiences in the emergency room. This hospital also uses the design thinking process to envision how hospital staff can redesign units and serve only patients in the hospital.
