Statement of Stockholders’ Equity represents shareholder equity. It is a section of the balance sheet that reflects the changes in the value of the business to shareholders from the start to the end of an accounting period. When the statement of shareholder equity increases, it means that the company is doing well and progressing. Specifically, there is an increase in income inflow and profitability during such times when equity for shareholders increases. However, when the statement of shareholder equity reduces, there is a reduction in income inflow, which more often features reduced profitability. Statement of Stockholders’ Equity provides shareholders, investors, and the company’s owners with information on how the business is performing, net of all assets and liabilities. Shareholder’s equity is what remains after subtracting the company’s assets and liability. Thus, this section of the balance sheet shows the difference between total assets and total liabilities.
