Affirm was founded in 2012 by Nathan Gettings, Jeffrey Kaditz, and Max Levchin. The company is a for-profit organization and is based in San Francisco. On Jan. 13, 2021, the company went public with an initial IPO price of $49. The total IPO valuation for the company was estimated to be $11.9 billion. The company owners decided to float the shares in the NASDAQ stock exchange. Currently, the market share for the company is 32 dollars (Yahoo Finance, 2022). The company's goal is to provide a financial service that is accountable and transparent to its users. By empowering consumers and improving their lives, the company aims to attract a large pool of clients. One of the company's services is the provision of loans at the point of sale (Affirm, 2022). Traditionally, consumers were used to getting credit cards for their purchases. However, Affirm allows consumers to buy products and make regular monthly payments. The company does not have a compounding interest policy on its loans. Additionally, there are no hidden costs, and consumers are shown what they are supposed to pay before giving the loan. (Affirm, 2022). The loans offered are provided in partnership with the company's bank partner Cross River Bank.

A majority of companies traded on the platforms are technology-related, although other companies are also listed in Nasdaq. The Shangai Stock Exchange offers products such as Equities, debt securities, and Real estate investment trusts.On the other hand, Euronext is known for trading bonds, derivatives, shares, regulated equities, and exchange-traded funds.
