Job order costing denotes a process of assigning costs of manufacturing to a specific production job. It is mostly incorporated when a firm is developing customer-specific jobs. I would use job-order costing to calculate the cost of materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
I will use job order costing in my future career to track the cost incurred while purchasing material required in manufacturing. I can use a material request form to show specific materials taken from inventory and put forward to go into manufacturing (BCCampus, n.d.).
