My experience with statistics has been impressive, although I find it an increasingly challenging subject. I like statistics because it offers opportunities to answer critical research questions, create new knowledge, and fosters advancement of the discipline. I have experience with statistics from my high school education and thus acknowledge its value in helping accountants conduct quantitative research and derive critical insights regarding different issues affecting the profession. As a student entering a statistics class, I am confident of excelling because of my statistical and mathematics background in secondary education. However, I recognize that some statistics courses may be challenging, triggering my ingrained negative perspective toward the subject.
