FinTech is when companies form a business with a business model of combining financial sector and technology. There is also a disruptive technology that entered the scene in 2009 known as blockchain technology. Blockchain technology also operates at the intersection of the financial sector and technology. There are some companies who have also entered this sphere not necessarily offering blockchain services or cryptocurrency and neither are they purely technological. Peer to peer lending is a new trend in the financial sector that has been digitized in the past. CoinLoan is a company whose business model is pegged at the intersection of blockchain technology and financial sector and it specializes in peer to peer lending. CoinLoan operates by providing peer lending with crypto assets as collateral. In short, it is a loaning company but the lenders have guarantee in form of cryptocurrency. In layman terms, a borrower deposits cryptocurrency into CoinLoan. The borrower is, therefore, able to borrow to a certain amount of money based on the value of his/her crypto assets.
