Alpha decay occurs when the nucleus emits an α particle. Primarily, alpha decay occurs in nuclear. Alpha particles undergo radioactive decay when they decompose. Research shows that whenever atomic numbers are greater than 83, alpha decay elements are usually the most common decays. Secondly, beta negative decay, as the name suggests, are better at radioactive penetration compared to alpha decay because they are relatively smaller in size than alpha. However, Beta decays are less penetrating compared to gamma. On the other hand, beta negative radioactive decay is the most common element whose neutron to proton ratio is high.
