1. How does Marvell describe regicide in “An Horatian Ode”?
Regicide is used to describe the killing of a king. In “An Horatian Ode,” Marvell uses regicide to describe the killing of King Charles. The word is also connected to how the French and Italian wanted to restore Charles II while the military under Cromwell subdued these efforts. Marvell also uses the word to explain Cromwell’s brutal campaign in Ireland.
