Kindly accept my apology for not communicating earlier. It was not my intention, but I was hampered with a lack of opportunity. How are you all faring? On January 3rd, 1917, I gladly received your letter dated August 24th, 1916. Apparently, by the envelope's appearance, it had been to various officers and regiments, but luckily, it arrived quite safely.
