TO move from “Novice to Expert” pertains to the advancement of the level of skill that nurses naturally undergo as they progress in their career forward in time. It speaks about how the competency and task fulfillment of nurses are continually improving as their “rank” and “role” change. Banner solidified it in his Levels of Function mainly the novice, advanced beginner, competent, proficient, and expert
2. Define reality shock and give examples of what you may have experienced as student while in the nursing program 
Reality shock is a state of astonishment where in a person is having a different experience of the truth happening in front of him or her, than an ideal expected scenario. A person under reality shock may have hindered performance. As a nurse, I experienced my first reality shock during my first child-birth experience. I never expected that the process could be very bloody and messy and noisy and fulfilling.
3. Give examples of when you have experienced burnout or observed in burnout while in the clinical setting.’
I have had a burnout experience during a nursing internship in an out of town hospital. A hurricane was ongoing in that town that time and we were forced to receive the duty of the new sets of interns that should have replaced our group. One blood extraction session with a young boy turned very bloody when the resident doctor made a mistake with the injection. The whole team was exhausted but refused to give in to fatigue and still did what they were expected to accomplish. All health workers as I have observed, has the uncanny skill of hiding their fatigue and emotion for the sake of service and care for others. They will remain capable and dependable to the patients as long as their shift endures. However, during a burn-out experience, they may need some time to recover their motivation and inspiration to persevere in their field.
4. Discuss the challenge of patient safety and what it entails.
The challenge of patient safety is within the notion that nurses, as care-givers, should not cause any harm to the patients, or if unable, must only cause minimum pain. Nurses have the big responsibility of making sure that the patients are comfortable and contented with their care.
