Achievement of business goals is usually heavily dependent upon the plans set by the management prior to the execution of any activities. Of the four types of plans, operational planning focuses more on the way in which the tactics of executing the organization’s objectives. As its name suggests, operational planning focus on the personnel and the manner in which they execute the duties bestowed upon them and their respective offices. Operational planning therefore, constitutes a very critical aspect of the organization, as it literally dictates the day to day routine within the organization, from the small presumably minor things, to the bigger, evident ones.
In order to develop an operational plan, it is important to first of all identify the kind of processes involved, either single use, or ongoing ones. In the case of our product, the most suitable course to take would be to take it as an ongoing plan, since it will be used severally and even be subject to adjustments at one time or the other.
